PROJECT EXAMPLE
Create your brief. Include any themes and slogans you'd like represented on the banner. An inclusive way to kickstart the process is to set up a banner committee that includes staff and pupils.
From your brief we'll design 4 drawing workshops to be delivered by teachers in class. All additional resources such as readings, images and music will be provided.
From the drawings we'll design the banner.
Durham Bannmerakers artist Emma will then come in to the school for 2 days to work with the upper year to paint the banner working with four pupils at a time rotating with the bell. Please inform us of any pupils who need additional support.
A flat wall 2 m X 2 m is required with some space for pupils to see the banner from a distance if possible.
The banner is then brought back to the studio to finish the painting and be sewn up in the same style as a traditional banner and will be delivered with a set of poles for parading.
