With a thirty year history of successfully delivering creative, inclusive and diverse projects for schools, Durham Bannermakers can design the perfect banner project to inspire your students for generations to come.
Working with banner artist Emma Shankland (BA sculpture/installation, MA museum and gallery education), a typical banner project can include up to 140 students.
“ Northern Heartlands is so proud to have these stunning banners represent its engagement programme with school children in Willington as part of the Man Engine's only visit to County Durham. The banners produced are of the highest quality and clearly reflect a creative process that has engaged young people in thinking about their sense of place. It has been a pleasure to work with Emma, and Northern Heartlands would be delighted to work with Durham Bannermakers again.” - Tariq Imam, Community Facilitator , Northern Heartlands
“Emma and the children have really done a great job at encapsulating the values of St William's. The staff and children are very proud of the banner and we look forward to sharing it with the rest of our community” - Headteacher M Tiplady, St William’s Primary School Trimdon
“It has been a lovely project and it is wonderful to celebrate our heritage in this way. The banner is now in a prominent position in the school hall but it’s also available for the community to use at events.” - Headteacher Kathryn Heatherington, Cockfield Primary
We also offer studio visits and workshops to kick start your project. Contact us to discuss your ideas and desired outcomes.
